28.09.2011 off topic Swedbank scam

My blood boiled.
It honestly did.
These awful, scum sucking son of a pigs deserve to rot in a filthy pit of rotting garbage while awful african bees sting them to death.

"Hej, vi upptckte oregelbunden aktivitet p ditt Swedbank konto.
Anvnd lnken nedan fr att verifiera ditt konto omedelbart:
Swedbank"

Literally translated: "Hi,we discvered irregular activity n your Swedbank account.
se the lnk below  t verify your account immediately:
Swedbank"

Someone's missing a few crucial Swedish letters on their keyboards.
When you click on the link it leads you to a page that looks a whole lot like
the normal, official, Swedbank page you're supposed to use but there
are a few crucial differences. The only thing you can do with the fake is type in your
social security number, pick an option from the drop down
menu and press enter. The "English" link and the security link lead nowhere.

Doesn't matter which option you pick in the drop down menu, it'll still lead
you to the same page where you're supposed to enter an 8 digit
"one time code". Something that isn't possible if you use a personal code
to access your bank account online. Only the people with "dosor" can type in
an 8 digit one time code, but, as I mentioned before, no matter what you choose
from the drop down menu it'll always ask for a one time code.

After you've entered your one time code it'll give you a loading screen that
asks for some patience because it'll take a minute. The minute turns into 5
and after it's done "loading" you get this screen:

You have to login to
this site.

Don't fall for it. If it was important your bank would NEVER contact you through e-mail
and who are they to say that your account activity is "irregular"? People buy cars,
go to casinos, do things they shouldn't again and again and do you think banks take
the time to e-mail each and everyone of those customers? No. If it's important they're
going to mail you the old fashioned way.

I'd read about this scam in the papers so I was a bit suspicious from the get go,
as a normal teenager that spends a lot of time on the web has a tendency to be,
but everyone aren't that lucky. Not everyone are familiar with scams on the internet,
not everyone think before they type and hopefully more people out there will take the time to
research the links they get sent before they click on them.
